The publication which comes out on a quarterly basis often includes insights on what investors need to know when navigating the Kenyan legal terrain. Contributions are drawn first from the firm’s lawyers and from lawyers in firms that the firm has close ties with, such as this edition’s external contributors – JMiles&Co. The firm’s quarterly publication was born in 2015 out of a need to keep the firm’s clients informed about topical legal developments in the country. The new issue which covers a breadth of industries including the financial services sector, also includes articles on among other topics – disclosure requirements under Kenya’s new “Company Regulations”, the jurisdictional boundaries of Kenya’s specialized Courts, the growth of mediation in Africa and notably, a key investment-related statute that was recently passed to foster the country’s efforts towards establishing a regional financial hub – the Nairobi International Financial Centre Act.
