• Advising the Government of Kenya(GoK) and Telkom Kenya Limited on the sale of a substantial stake in Telkom Kenya Limited, to a strategic Investor and Initial Public Offer
  • Acting for Telkom Kenya at the Employment and Labour Relations Court including in a claim for variation of the terms of a voluntary early retirement scheme post closure and a contested bonus payment scheme
  • Undertook a tax and legal audit of a leading telecommunications group in lieu of significant capital investment by global PE investors
  • Advising the GoK as part of a consortium of local and international firms, during the privatization of Kenya Posts and Telecommunications Corporation and subsequent creation of Telkom(Kenya) Limited, Postal Corporation of Kenya and the Communications Commission of Kenya. Some of our tasks included reviewing policy documents, statutes, existing loan documentation, conducting Due Diligence and drafting transaction documents
  • Acting for the Communications Authority of Kenya(CAK) in challenging the constitutionality of some of the amendments introduced by the Media Act 2013 and the Kenya Information Amendment Act 2013.
  • Successfully represented the CCK in several suits arising from the grant of a license to the third Kenyan GSM mobile operator
  • Representing the CCK in a judicial review application, involving a challenge of the Kenya Communications(Broadcasting) Regulations 2010
  • Acting for the CCK in judicial review proceedings, involving an interconnection determination challenge by Essar Technology Ltd
  • Represented the Central Bank of Kenya in a case in which the petitioner sought to stop the largely popular transfer of money services provided by the mobile telephone companies including Safaricom’s “M-Pesa” and “Airtel Money”
