Oraro & Company Advocates is proud to have sponsored the 7th East Africa International Arbitration Conference (EAIAC) that ran from 29th – 30th August 2019 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. EAIAC’s primarily promotes the development of international arbitration practice in the region, brings together the private sector, investment community, regional and international arbitrators, legal practitioners to share best practice, network and forge business relations.
The conference was themed ‘Government Contracting and Investment Disputes: Lessons for States and Investors’. Our Managing Partner, Chacha Odera was part of a panel of African Arbitration Pioneers where he shared about his journey in the arbitration practice. Among the other guest speakers was Noella Lubano, Partner, who gave insights on ‘Regional legislation on government contracting’. Also, representing the firm was Georgina Ogalo-Omondi, Sandra Kavagi, Eva Mukami, Quinter Okuta and Yonah Ougo.
