We are proud to announce that #ourveryown team of George Oraro SC, Noella Lubano, Eva Mukami, Paul Kamara and Kateline Mang’ich have successfully represented Telkom Kenya Limited (“Telkom”) in a recent landmark case in which the High Court found that Telkom is the lawful registered owner of the property on which Posta Sports Grounds along Ngong Road was constructed. The High Court has ordered the Government to pay Telkom KES 15 Billion as compensation for the incomplete compulsory acquisition of the Posta Sports Grounds property.
In its judgment, the High Court found that a lawful compulsory acquisition process must comply with the provisions of the Land Act, 2012, and that prompt and just compensation must be paid to the owner of property earmarked for compulsory acquisition.
