BACKGROUND
Leanne is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution Department and specialises in commercial litigation, employment and labour relations, insolvency, banking, mediation, and general commercial transactions.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Nairobi and a post-graduate diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She is also a Certified Professional Mediator.
EXPERIENCE
- Part of the team advising a global technology company on regulatory compliance relating to its employment structure, the legal implications of proposed legislative amendments affecting digital platform work in Kenya and the possible expansion of employment-related obligations.
- Part of the Team representing the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation in suits for, among other things, challenging the unlawful restructuring of a multi-million-dollar loan facility by a third-party lender, including the unilateral currency conversion and imposition of higher interest rates.
- Part of the Team representing a global technology company in suits before the Transport Licensing Appeals Board and the High Court regarding complex regulatory and procedural issues relating to transport technology services.
- Part of the Team representing and providing advisory work to a leading bank in Kenya, on matters employment and labour relations.
