BACKGROUND
Wambui is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution practice group and specialises in banking and commercial litigation, domestic and international arbitration, asset tracing and recoveries, intellectual property disputes, and general commercial transactions.
She has significant experience in advising both local and international clients in various sectors, including manufacturing, construction, insurance and financial services.
Wambui holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Riara University Law School and a post-graduate diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
EXPERIENCE
- Part of the Team representing a leading insurance services provider in an arbitration where the company is pursuing a claim against an international consultancy firm for breach of contract.
- Part of the Team acting for a manufacturing company in an arbitration where the company, which is the employer, has been sued for an alleged breach of a Construction Agreement.
- Part of the Team representing and giving advisory work to the Kenya Commercial Bank on matters employment and labour relations.
- Part of the Team representing the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation in suits for, among others, the recovery of sums fraudulently acquired from two leading banks, consequent to which the said banks were rendered insolvent.
- Advising, and acting for, an international manufacturing company on the protection and enforcement of their Trademark rights both locally and internationally.
- Advising, and acting for, an international manufacturing company on the enforcement of their local anti-counterfeiting initiatives.
